Reduce Your Chemical Footprint in the Shop

In a detailing shop, where dozens of products are used for a myriad of cleaning, shining, waxing or vehicle finishing jobs, few things are as crucial to your team members and customers as floor space, safety and consistency. 

The one struggle that has plagued shops for years are the regularly used large, heavy drums of product that significantly reduce the footprint in your shop while being a safety concern due to their weight and chance for spills. In the modern era of detailing, the pain points of limited floor space and safety concerns can be overcome with a system of concentrated products and metered techniques of dilution, all while providing the best end result possible for your customers. 

Reduce, Reduce, Reduce

Detailing shops go through gallons of soaps, coatings and cleaners every day. These have been traditionally shipped by means of heavy, unwieldy drums upwards of 55 gallons. The problems here range from the sheer size of these drums taking up precious floor space and getting in the way of your detailing staff members to the task of moving the drums and transferring the product into smaller containers for use. 

The result of these heavy drums are more opportunities for safety risks and spills. The solution? Stop breaking your backs lugging heavy drums, and stop paying for the water in the cleaners that you already have! 

In 2022, you can put an end to moving these drums off of shipment trucks and altogether remove them off of your shop’s floor. Concentrated products that ship in small bottles that can be lifted with one hand and prepared with the water your shop already pays for can be the alternative your team is looking for. Additionally, because of how incredibly concentrated these products are today, the flexibility and longevity of one bottle has the ability to be stretched further, depending on what the product is used for. Soaps can be diluted for simple cleaning jobs or more heavily concentrated for degreasing applications. Products often put into spray bottles can be made more flexible by forgoing them all together and attaching your desired product to a foam gun to apply straight to the car’s surface. The reduced size of each concentrate can take up even less floor space by removing them from the floor or shelf and alternatively affixing them to your shop’s wall, making each concentrated product easy to grab, fill and replace when empty. 

Mixing product into spray bottles or buckets still involves human interaction. Where there are people manually mixing and filling product, spills are still a risk factor to consider as is proper mix ratios of concentrate to water. However, concentrates can be metered automatically with a dilution system from the product manufacturer. Just as easy as a soda machine fills your cup with the right mix of syrup and carbonated water, dilution systems hooked up to a water supply measure out the perfect amount of product and water into your spray bottle or bucket, eliminating guesswork and manual measuring. 

For the Customers

A job well done means each and every customer drives away with sense of satisfaction and pride because of the consistency in the shop’s detailing process. Concentrated products can provide this benefit with upsides like added floor space and reduced safety risks, but they also have the potential to lower the average detailing cost per car, culminating in a massive benefit to help any shop reach its full potential.
