Experts Cory Collins and Justin Osburn Shed Light on the Fundamentals to Elevate Independent Dealers and F&I Managers
For independent dealers and finance managers trying to get a handle on their F&I operations, Indianapolis is the place to be this summer.
The F&I Basics Bootcamp, presented by Automotive Reinsurance Concepts, the fastest-growing reinsurance and warranty company in the U.S., is now scheduled for June 14-15 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, where attendees will learn the fundamentals of F&I from the industry’s top experts.
ARC founder and CEO Justin Osburn brings experience as a dealership owner and finance manager. He also served as lead instructor of NIADA’s acclaimed Certified Master Dealer course.
ARC national training director “3K” Cory Collins, who earned his nickname by running $3,000 in F&I profit per vehicle retailed, is a renowned F&I master who trains F&I managers for some of the nation’s largest independent dealerships.
“We built this course based on fundamentals and the results have been just mind-blowing,” Collins said. “Not only are we changing dealerships’ bottom lines, we’re also changing F&I managers’ lives.”
The two-day Bootcamp – the first step in ARC’s three-part series of F&I certification courses, followed by intermediate and advanced – is focused on the four essentials of F&I sales.
That includes how to do a successful turnover – the T.O. – as well as a solid menu presentation, basic deal structure and primary and introductory objection handling.
Before the Indianapolis event, Collins will conduct a one-day version of the Bootcamp for the Virginia Independent Automobile Dealers Association on April 26 at VIADA’s headquarters in Richmond.
VIADA invited Collins to teach the workshop following his popular F&I session at the association’s Dealer Education Day in March, in which he “brought F&I to another level, a new realization,” said Rose Blackwell of Blackwell Consulting in Portsmouth, Va., who attended the session. “He shed light on everything.”
Lydia McDonald, F&I manager of NeoClassics in Willoughby, Ohio, said the value of the ARC F&I Bootcamp she attended in 2022 is “immeasurable.”
“You will return to work with a fresh framework, millions of questions answered, excitement and energy, and a whole bunch of new confidence in what you do,” she said. “The knowledge I learned has helped catapult my deals.”
The goal of the ARC Bootcamps is to bring quality education to independent dealerships, a sector Osburn said has been vastly underserved when it comes to F&I training.
“This course provides a very solid foundation for independent F&I managers,” he said. “It’s a great resource to help them dramatically improve their PVR.”
