ASE Workshops at NADA to Focus on EV Safety, Technician Recruitment and Retention

Learn strategies to better attract and retain entry-level technicians as well as how to develop and maintain a safe work environment and skill set for your extended EV team members.

Donna Wagner, ASE vice president, industry and media relations and Corey Glassman, electric vehicle safety consultant for ASE, will present at the 2024 NADA show being held Feb. 1-4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

On Feb. 2, from 2:30-3:15 p.m. PT, Wagner will conduct a workshop titled “Entry-Level Techs are Ready to Work. Are You Ready for Them?” Today, there are 125,000 students in ASE-accredited automotive classes and that number is enough to take a huge bite out of the technician shortage. However, employers are still struggling to fill open positions. In her presentation, Wagner will provide tactics and strategies to better attract and retain entry-level technicians. In addition, she will help employers understand and embrace demographic shifts and career expectations among the younger generations that will help positively impact retention and employee satisfaction for existing employees.

In the NADA EV Solutions Center, Glassman will make his presentation titled “ASE Electrified Propulsion Vehicles High-voltage Electrical Safety Standards” on Feb. 2 from 3:00-3:30 p.m. PT.  The workshop will help attendees develop and maintain a safe work environment and skill set for their extended EV team members after deploying the industry-approved EV safety standard across their organization.
