Women at the Wheel 2023: Susan Lovett

2023 Honoree

Senior Director of Marketing
CallRevu

What is one of your proudest accomplishments of your career?

I’ve been very fortunate to have a 20+ year career in retail automotive. One of the most important milestones in my career was the work I did at MPi (today recognized as AutoPoint a Solera company) from 2004 to 2014. During my tenure, MPi was a startup organization that introduced new service technology and business processes for fixed operations, with the electronic vehicle inspection and Know Your Vehicle Report. This endeavor forever changed how service departments engage with their customers and manage vehicle inspections. For my part, I led the effort to develop a company brand and help develop a new product offering that wasn’t represented in the marketplace. I was a collaborator and a contributor who worked closely with Product and Sales to grow a business from zero to over $80 million prior to its acquisition with Solera. The lessons and experiences I gained from MPi have contributed to my professional growth. Today I’m a stronger, more successful marketer who helps companies, like CallRevu, showcase their exceptional products and services. What a joyful ride. I feel blessed and grateful to have had the experiences I’ve had, and I look forward to the future. Marketing is creative, strategic and impactful.

What is your best advice to other women who want to excel in the automotive industry?

Surround yourself with mentors who really care about your success as much as you do. This might sound like a cliché, but I feel very fortunate to have a circle of colleagues and friends who I can connect with for advice, career guidance and networking. When you have confidence in yourself and the value that you bring to the table, it will project onto others. This has helped me feel more comfortable sharing my opinions, raising my hand in meetings and not being afraid to be the voice of opposition when necessary. The industry is changing, women are more dominant today than ever before. I’m proud to be in automotive and it offers wonderful opportunities — be a risk taker, it can pay off.
