How does helping others factor into the culture of your business?

As part of our Diversity & Inclusion Council, we choose charities each year to support. In 2022 we are supporting: 21st Century Leaders, The Atlanta Music Project, Black Students of California United, Community-Based Mentoring Program, Men Who Dare and WOCAN.
How do you encourage your team members to get involved?
Every employee gets one paid community volunteer day a year and we serve up opportunities to volunteer for the corporate charities noted above as they are available.
What do you look for in a cause to determine if you will get involved? What advice can offer to others?
We like to support causes and charities that positively impact the communities in which we do business and any that support careers and diversity in the automotive industry. Our approach is to solicit employee recommendations for charities to support, then assess each in a D&I sub-committee whose goal is to finalize our charitable giving to ensure that we support the causes that align best to our giving strategy.
