What is one of your proudest accomplishments of your career?

While I could easily say that it’s transitioning from my role as my dealership’s inventory photographer to marketing manager, there’s an even more important aspect of my journey. As a lover of wrenching on my own vehicles and having experience in the industry, a teacher friend of mine approached me to write letters to students who were interested in working in the automotive field but were discouraged on taking the leap. I expected this to go to just one student, but now, several years later, many students have received letters and the impact has exceeded expectations. Empowering the next generation, especially young women who aspire to work in a predominantly male industry, has been the most rewarding experience of my career thus far. It reinforced the impact that mentorship can have on someone. As a matter of fact, I still talk to some of these students to this day.

What is your best advice to other women who want to excel in the automotive industry?

Let’s face it. It’s common knowledge that the automotive industry comes with its own set of challenges and is traditionally male-dominated, but we women are resilient. My best advice is to not just prove your worth, but let your work speak for itself. This will establish your credibility in the industry. Believe me, your skills and contributions won’t go unnoticed. The road may not always be freshly paved and dry, but your determination and unique perspective as a woman can be powerful assets. And ALWAYS remember, a woman can do anything a man can do, but backwards and in heels.
