Women at the Wheel 2023: Connie Suozzo

2023 Honoree

Vice President, Manheim Digital
Cox Automotive

What is one of your proudest accomplishments of your career?

Throughout my career, one of my proudest achievements has been my involvement in various start-up operations. These experiences have provided me with invaluable opportunities to establish and develop high-performing teams, create meaningful solutions both internally and for our clients and ultimately leave a positive impact on the organizations I have been a part of.

By fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, I believe that the highest level of personal accomplishment is witnessing the broader success of the team. Seeing the tangible results of our collective efforts, such as enhanced client satisfaction, improved efficiencies and including individual team member growth, has been immensely gratifying. The teams thrive on analyzing complex challenges, identifying innovative approaches, translating them into actionable strategies and pivoting when necessary. By working closely with cross-functional teams and leveraging the team’s expertise, we were able to develop solutions that were not only effective but also added significant value to our clients’ businesses.

These experiences have shaped me both personally and professionally, reinforcing my passion for team development, problem-solving and making a difference.

What is your best advice to other women who want to excel in the automotive industry?

For many women in this industry, we may find ourselves as the potential minority in the room. Embrace it. Always remain true to yourself and embrace your unique qualities, perspectives and experiences that you bring to the organization. No one knows your strengths or your passions better than you. Find what truly ignites your fury and seek it throughout your career. Passion fuels motivation, creativity and perseverance. When you genuinely care about your work, it shines through your performance, and it can be a source of inspiration for others. Stay connected to the reasons why you’re passionate about your work and let that drive your pursuit of excellence. Others will see it. Others will recognize it.

Change is also abundant, particularly in our industry. Seek out opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills, whether that’s through formal education, professional development programs, leveraging a mentor or other channels. Stay curious, be open to new ideas and be willing to adapt in this fast-paced world.
