What is one of your proudest accomplishments of your career?
The proudest moment of my career was taking the first step into entrepreneurship. While terrified at first, lacking funding and even a solid business plan, I felt immediate pressure to succeed. I had decided that failure was not an option. Working tirelessly, facing adversity and overcoming obstacles, I did everything possible to learn and grow. Overcoming challenges in my career has since led me to many proud moments, from ordering our first brochure to seeing our logo at events and ultimately receiving honors such as this from AutoSuccess. While I have experienced many setbacks, the experiences have been uplifting and have only furthered my motivation to succeed.
What is your best advice to other women who want to excel in the automotive industry?
As a business owner, I believe having a strong support system is crucial to success. In the automotive industry, having a “network” is undoubtedly important, but it goes far beyond the people you already know. I can attribute many of my accomplishments to having someone who believed in me, whether they referred a client or offered mentorship. Furthermore, I have found seeking women who inspire and motivate me incredibly valuable in creating opportunities and offering healthy feedback. Attending women-led forums that tackled topics previously considered taboo, such as exclusion, working mom guilt and toxic environments, has been incredibly empowering. Being surrounded by trustworthy people who can engage in open dialog, as well as challenge and support me, has been critical to my journey in business.
