How does helping others factor into the culture of your business?

Undoubtably, Linda and Mike Beaver have instilled a sense of gratitude and thankfulness in our culture from day one. Their formula of good people at the helm also keeps our compass pointed north. Our GM, Patrick Abad says, “When you are successful, you have a responsibility to be good to the community that makes you a success.” The ripple effect of “do good” is part of our everyday life at Beaver Toyota.

Please share with us the causes that are important to you and your business.

Children. In every community, there are children who are struggling whether it’s poverty, health or just the simple need for guidance. We volunteer time and donate to the causes. Giving back comes in all forms. We’ve adopted a local school where we installed touchless water fountains and painted their media room. We raised funds and supplies for Mentor Me of North Georgia, Inc., and Family Promise of Forsyth County, Inc., which assists homeless families with children. We regularly volunteer at Camp Twin Lakes, that powers transformative camps for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges. It’s not always about writing a check. It can be as simple as taking our company mascot, Bucky Beaver, over to the school to welcome back students or to the county pool to dance with the children of Miracle League of Forsyth County.

How do you encourage your team members to get involved?

Living with purpose comes from the heart and can be contagious to those exposed to it. Leading by example is the simplest way to begin. When the owners and leaders of a dealership take the time to give back, it makes an impression that seeds purpose in others. It then becomes second nature to get involved. We also have an in-house chaplain that visits several times a week. His “Pause for Prayer” brings light to our actions and giving back to the community in his weekly mini-sermons. We especially love when our team members come to us with ideas, and we all rally to support their efforts.

What do you look for in a cause to determine if you will get involved? What advice can offer to others?

Our biggest driver is listening to our 230 team members, who bring us the causes they want to champion. They are speaking from their heart and that’s our time to listen with intent. They are our benevolent warriors who are giving back to the community and without them, we could not perform in the arena. That’s what makes the ripple effect of “do good” come full circle.
