Clayton discusses with Dennis how the post-COVID years are affecting dealerships, car sales and the fixed ops department. Because new vehicles weren’t coming in to the dealership, there’s increased pressure on the fixed ops department to get cars front line faster, and the team at Honda of Downtown LA knew they couldn’t fail when it came to used cars and their reconditioning.
“It’s a process that we’ve really had to take a hard look at and, as my general manager said, ‘There’s no room for error when it comes to used cars and getting them through the process quickly,” Clayton said.
