Heather Stokes, Service Manager of Eagle Auto Mall

2021 Honoree

Service Manager
Eagle Auto Mall

What is the proudest accomplishment of your career thus far?

My proudest accomplishment thus far would be becoming a service manager at 28 years old. I have been working on cars my entire life. I entered the automotive industry at 17 years old as a service cashier. To watch myself progress and move up the ladder to running my own shop will always be very rewarding to me.

What is your best advice to other women who want to excel in the automotive industry?

My best advice for other women who want to excel in the automotive industry would be, never take no for an answer and never stop learning. Take in as much knowledge as you can. From training seminars to reading books on how to manage or how to sell. Grasp as much knowledge as you can, as fast as you can.

What are some of the ways you have seen the industry support women?

Some ways I have seen the industry support women is by awards like this. This award really shows fellow women in the industry that you can do anything you set your mind to.

What is one thing the industry could do better/differently to support women?

One thing the industry can do differently would be helping to remove the stereotype that only men can fix cars. As a little girl, I had engines apart and back together by 14. If you set your mind to something, nothing can get in your way.
