How has your military experience influenced your career in the automotive industry?

I would say, military life teaches you a lifestyle of get up early and get the job done. To never be content with your rank. Train, train, train to be better. If you apply those same principles in the automotive world, you can succeed to your aspirations!

What are some of the ways you have seen the industry support veterans?

General Motors and other manufacturers continue to come up with special discounts exclusively for armed services personnel. Also, at the dealership level, myself and many other dealers support local organizations and functions that directly benefit our veterans.

Give one piece of advice for veterans entering the industry.

Get up early, go to work to work and never stop training. Do the work that most can but won’t. For most veterans, it’s easy to follow and a great path to success! Don’t ever be the victim of a problem, be the solution. No conflict or war was laid out with a sure-fire plan to win the war, leaders counted on their soldiers to work with the plan and figure out how to win. That is the car business, have a plan and get ready to win the battles when it doesn’t go to plan.
