How has your military experience influenced your career in the automotive industry?

The military taught me that persistence and follow-through are critical to success. Skills and judgement are developed based upon experience, which includes challenges and obstacles. Commit to your actions and what you tell others you’ll accomplish. Not doing what you say erodes creditability and empowers resistance.

What are some ways you have seen the industry support veterans?

I have seen companies create support groups, events and fundraisers to help needy veterans and that alone makes me proud to be a part of the automotive industry.

Give one piece of advice for veterans entering the industry.

Always be prepared for change. No matter how much knowledge you have, next year when that new model comes out, everything that you once knew is now a memory and the new challenge begins.
