Jameel Ghata Joins Discovery Loft as Chief Strategy Officer

By expanding its leadership team with professionals experienced in the automotive sector positions, Discovery Loft expects to rapidly grow its PAVE brand.

Discovery Loft Inc., creators of the PAVE automated vehicle inspection platform, announced the appointment of Jameel Ghata as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), along with several other strategic hires. By expanding its leadership team with professionals experienced in the automotive sector positions, Discovery Loft expects to rapidly grow its PAVE brand and develop strategic partnerships on a global scale.

As CSO, Ghata will be responsible for developing, communicating and executing Discovery Loft’s corporate strategy. This includes evaluating market conditions and their impact on company strategy, overseeing the execution of strategic plans, making key decisions to drive sustainable growth, facilitating collaboration and communication between Discovery Loft employees, executives and key stakeholders and more. Ghata will also lead business development efforts, including identifying licensing opportunities and seeking strategic investments that support Discovery Loft’s corporate agenda. As an executive on the senior leadership team, Ghata will collaborate with other business functions to communicate the company’s strategy, test and evaluate new products and develop a capital plan.

Ghata comes to Discovery Loft from a leader in the automotive arena, Cox Automotive, where he was senior director of new product innovation. His experience leading teams using artificial intelligence (AI) and vehicle scanning to detect damage and determine overall vehicle condition positions will allow Ghata to immediately contribute to the success of PAVE.

“In my prior role, I had the opportunity to evaluate every vehicle inspection solution available. Without question, PAVE consistently came out on top as the automotive industry’s best toolkit,” said Ghata. “Discovery Loft has created a best of breed solution, and I look forward to leveraging my automotive industry experience to accelerate the reach and global leadership of the brand.”

“We are rapidly building a world-class team to deepen the market penetration of the PAVE platform,” said Brian Steinhauser, co-founder and co-CEO of Discovery Loft. “Adding Jameel to our senior executive team is a strategic move that puts us significantly further ahead of any other player in the market.”

Additional new hires round out Discovery Loft leadership

Discovery Loft has made several strategic new hires over the past six months. This includes Lydia Bowser, who has joined the company to take the role of human resources director. Lydia was previously at Hyundai Auto Canada, where she served as long-time senior human resources manager. In her role at Discovery Loft, she will develop and implement the company’s human capital strategy in alignment with the company’s short and long-term goals. Bowser is a certified human resources professional and an active participant in the Women & Automotive Canadian Leadership Forum.

Yosh Ubieda joined Discovery Loft last quarter as the director of finance in charge of financial management, as well as capital allocation and management procedures and policies. He came to the company after 10 years at Equifax, most recently as director of finance.

Discovery Loft’s director of marketing, Michael Willson, joined the company in December 2021 to lead product marketing and communication strategy. Leveraging his esteemed career in digital marketing as a creative director and senior marketing executive, Michael is re-imagining the company’s brand and driving innovation across product and corporate marketing initiatives.

“The newest additions to our leadership team have the expertise we need to create an even greater impact in the automotive market and cement our leadership role in the industry,” said Steve Southin, co-founder and co-CEO of Discovery Loft. “We look forward to continuing to expand our team over the coming months as we focus on driving ongoing innovation across our vehicle inspection platform and ensuring it remains the go-to solution for the automotive resale industry.”
