Dominion Eliminates DMS Friction Points with Complete Suite of Fixed Ops Tools

The MPI application reduces the time it takes service technicians to complete inspections and reduces human error by adding touch-screen functionality and automation to the process.

Dominion Dealer Solutions is presenting the most complete fixed operations solution in its new cloud-based DMS, Dominion VUETM. The first of its kind, Dominion VUE is the only DMS in the industry that features browser-based, tablet-ready software for service advisors while also allowing flexibility for third-party integration.

A fully-integrated service application within the DMS, Dominion VUE includes several built-in modules including electronic Multi-Point Inspections (MPI), maintenance menus, and simplified route sheets, eliminating the time and storage needed to download or update apps.

The MPI application reduces the time it takes service technicians to complete inspections and reduces human error by adding touch-screen functionality and automation to the process.  Dominion VUE features preset text selectors to quickly complete fields, image capture when using a tablet, and 3-D video display to help advisors better explain dealer and OEM recommended maintenance needs to customers. This MPI process is normally skipped or under performed in most dealerships, but can now be easily embedded into the service advisors daily schedules and increase profitability.

Dominion VUE’s model-specific maintenance menus reduce training time and improve the customer experience. By designing Dominion VUE with a contemporary user interface and the largest digitized maintenance menu for vehicles sold in the U.S., dealership employees can more quickly learn the software and access trim-level details for the vehicles in the service drive, which reduces the time it takes to train staff.

The route sheet functionality allows service advisors to manage all RO’s and operations from a single screen.  Managers can assign techs based on their skill sets and can filter assignments based on promised delivery times. Most importantly, RO and MPI status allows full drill-down functionality, empowering service advisors to identify details and needs in real time.

“Our built-in features and functionalities will help dealers save time in training and implementation as well. Our goal to create the easiest-to-use DMS is best represented in the complete feature set of our Fixed Ops solution. We have taken every effort to anticipate dealers’ needs by building functionality into the core product, but we are also maintaining an open framework so that we can integrate with other applications that our dealers may need,” says Van Koppersmith, president of Dominion DMS.

Dominion VUE is completing beta roll out with the help of a Midwest-based dealer group and is operating on a timed roll out to dealers in the U.S. through 2018 and 2019.

With volume for the month projected at 1.27 million units, S&P Global Mobility analysts expect March 2023 to be up more than 11% from the month-prior tally, attributable to three additional selling days. The expected March 2023 volume would be aligned with the year-ago period (with the same number of selling days), reflecting that sales momentum will be difficult to sustain given current economic headwinds and tailwinds.
