Cox Automotive’s Investments in Logistics are Paying off for Digital Buyers

Cox Automotive’s multimillion-dollar investment in its logistics technology has resulted in unmatched efficiencies for clients across the Manheim Marketplace.

DHL-powered logistics technology is now integrated throughout the Manheim Marketplace and beyond, giving digital wholesale buyers needed efficiencies

Cox Automotive’s multimillion-dollar investment in its logistics technology has resulted in unmatched efficiencies for clients across the Manheim Marketplace. The DHL-powered technology, now deployed across Manheim’s physical and digital platforms, makes it faster and easier for clients to order, pay for and manage transportation through Ready Logistics—all within Manheim.com. These technology advances have already resulted in an improvement in on-time delivery, reducing the average transport time by 1-1.5 days.

“At Cox Automotive, we are committed to simplifying logistics for clients through our multi-year partnership with DHL Supply Chain and ongoing investment in digitizing the end-to-end transportation process,” said Joe Kichler, vice president of Manheim Logistics. “We’re confident that these latest enhancements will give clients everything they need to seamlessly manage their transportation.”

With over 73% of Manheim transactions going to digital buyers, these innovations will be a welcome addition to the Manheim.com experience. Clients now have all they need to get their vehicles moving right at their fingertips, including the ability to order transportation, pay for it via ACH or their floor plan and get status updates. Best of all, Manheim buyers who purchase digitally and ship with Ready Logistics benefit from an arbitration extension if the vehicle arrives outside of the updated NAAA policy timeframe, giving them two days after the vehicle is delivered to inspect the vehicle and open a claim.

As an added bonus, this new logistics technology extends beyond Manheim.com, giving clients access to even more information about their vehicles in transport. Clients can now get deep analytics, reporting, issue resolution and more with Ready Logistics’ all-new MyLogisticsHub, powered by DHL MySupplyChain, which makes managing vehicle shipments easier than ever. They can quickly see all their vehicles’ crucial shipping details in one place, so keeping orders on track is easy.

With MyLogisticsHub, clients can now:

  • Access in-depth shipping data right from the home page, so they can know exactly what’s going on with their orders and optimize transportation operations.
  • Create highly personalized reports and quickly get updates on things that matter most to their businesses, including seeing a quick breakdown of any issues, along with links to resolve them quickly.
  • Ability to pay for, or floor plan, their transportation costs directly through platform, saving time.

Since 2019, Ready Logistics and DHL Supply Chain have been collaborating on a fully integrated logistics platform, bringing technologies like those used in the consumer goods space to automotive logistics. Through digitizing the end-to-end transportation process, the team aims to provide clients a consistent, seamless and predictable experience with more visibility into transport status, as well as more autonomy over payment options.
