Broadly Hosts Business Workshops with ThinkLikeAnApp

The workshops will launch April 10, with a half-day workshop supported by hours of free and individualized “office hours." There will also be workshops on three consecutive Tuesdays, beginning April 13.

Beginning Saturday, April 10, 2021, automotive services software provider Broadly, Inc. and ThinkLikeAnApp have teamed up to deliver a series of workshops for auto service providers.

For over five years, Broadly has been delivering software that helps shops build their reputation, engage with the modern consumer and make the payment processing simple and contactless. Broadly has sought out the team at ThinkLikeAnApp to offer a workshop that focuses on the why and how to build more trusted customer relationships.

Matt Baker, VP of growth at Broadly and longtime executive in the local small business space, is leading the effort to deliver quality, compelling content to the entire auto shop and service provider sector.

“We are always looking to find partners who bring a unique point of view and can help our existing shop owner customers and other shop owners better meet the changing and evolving demands of today’s modern consumer,” Baker said. “I’ve known Neal Polachek, founder of ThinkLikeAnApp, for sometime and he always speaks in ways that small business owners can ‘get it.’ More recently I have come to know his business partner, Dori Etter, who is, in her own right, a compelling force and first-rate teacher.”

The workshops will launch April 10, when Polachek and Etter will deliver a half-day workshop supported by hours of free and individualized “office hours” for shop owners. They will also be delivering the workshop on three consecutive Tuesdays, beginning April 13. The workshops are being sponsored by the Broadly team with the intention of helping both customers and non-customers.

“Neal and I are really looking forward to teaching auto service providers to leverage the three pillars of ThinkLikeAnApp — Authenticity, Transparency and Immediacy — so they can build more trust among their customers, prospects and employees. Together we’ve built content that will speak to the needs of auto shop owners no matter where they’re doing business today,” Etter said.

OE guidelines and safety procedures as well as the proper PPE and tools will keep you safe when working on an EV.

Staying safe while working on an electric vehicle requires the correct shop equipment as well as the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and shortcuts are simply not an option. Let’s take a look at everything you are going to need.

We’ll start with PPE and electrical safety gloves. Class zero electrical insulating gloves rated for 1000 volts are required for EV service. Simply put, these gloves prevent high voltage from traveling through your hands, and they must be tested every time you use them by checking for a pinhole or any damage that could allow voltage to pass through a glove. A glove inflator is the most efficient way to do this. Insulating gloves must also be clean and dry so there are no conductive substances that can allow high voltage to travel outside the glove to your arm. Treat these safety gloves with extreme care. They can be damaged easily and they’re sensitive to UV rays, so they should be stored in a dark, dry environment. A ventilated UV-resistant bag is the best option. Safety gloves must also be re-certified every six months. You’ll also wear them with a leather outer glove to protect them, most prefer to wear an inner cotton glove as a liner to allow your hands to breathe.
