Blair Image Elements Creates LED Light Wall for Lexus Dealership

Blair transformed a portion of the dealership’s exterior fascia to create an exciting and engaging experience for customers that is consistent with the high standards of the Lexus brand.

Blair Image Elements, a leading manufacturer of signage and brand image elements, designed and installed an LED Light Wall for Lexus of North Hills in Wexford, Pennsylvania. Capitalizing on a current trend in corporate branding using digital visual enhancements coupled with the decreasing cost of LED light displays, Blair transformed a portion of the dealership’s exterior fascia to create an exciting and engaging experience for customers that is consistent with the high standards of the Lexus brand.

The color-tunable LED Light Wall, which is the equivalent of a digital canvas, contains approximately 24,000 individual LED lights covering a 1,450-square-foot area. This LED Light Wall is fully customizable, making it possible for the Lexus of North Hills team to quickly upload themed animations for holidays and special events. Customers, and the public in general, are treated to eye-catching animations ranging from cool white lights mimicking gently falling rain, to the American flag waving, to warm flashes of color reminiscent of summer fireworks.

Colorful light animations serve as one of many meticulously crafted features of this innovative and brand-reinforcing element. Other features include mini etchings of the Lexus logo across the surface of each glass panel, plus a proprietary track-and-rail system that provides ease of service and maintenance.

Matthew Barton, senior product e2ngineer at Blair Image Elements, said that he and his colleagues were thrilled to bring this LED Light Wall to fruition. Innovation remains one of the core values at Blair, and Barton emphasized that a project of this magnitude speaks to how the company maintains an “If you can dream it, we can do it” approach.

“We were excited to take this project on,” Barton said. “This was a challenge that, because of the scale of it, would require considerable thought and a lot of effort, but we knew we could do it.”

Blair was approached with the initial concept in July 2019, and by March 2020, their engineers had built and presented a prototype. After weathering COVID-related delays, the installation process was completed over a two-week period in October 2021, with the dealership remaining operational the entire time.

Sal Cerra, Lexus of North Hills general manager, stated that the LED Light Wall delivers a stunning and high-end visual that has attracted a lot of attention. He also said that he and his team had a positive experience with Blair.

“Working with Blair was fantastic,” Cerra said. “Our team is proud and excited to have this beautiful light wall on the front of our building. It’s dynamic. It’s changeable. Everybody loves it. It makes a huge difference. I would absolutely recommend Blair Image Elements to other companies who are considering updating their facilities with a similar LED wall.”
